In a big win for NIA, two suspects of the Rameshwaram Café blast were nabbed from Kolkata on April 12. Mussavir Hussain Shazib, Abdul Matheen Taha were allegedly involved in Rameshwaram Café blast. Mussavir Hussain Shazib is accused of planting the IED inside the Rameshwaram Café. On the other hand, Abdul Matheen Taha is said to be the mastermind of the attack. The NIA had declared rewards of Rs 10 lakh on each of the absconders. NIA, Central Agencies and police force of several states worked together to nab the accused. The cafe in Bengaluru's Whitefield area was jolted by a low-intensity blast on March 1. The case was handed over to the NIA on March 3, following the NIA team’s visit to the blast site. Watch video.

In 2019, HM Amit Shah moved a resolution revoking Article 370 from J&K in Rajya Sabha on August 05. The resolution was passed and PM Modi-led Centre scrapped Article 370 of the Indian Constitution. It also brought an end to the special status of Jammu and Kashmir under Article 370 of the Indian Constitution. Even after 5 years, the abrogation of Article 370 still haunts Pakistan, one of the biggest setbacks internationally. Pakistan Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar called abrogation of Article 370 a “very painful, extreme step”. Notably, the strained ties between India and its neighbours has hit Pakistan’s trade severely. Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) president Mayawati on January 15 reiterated her party's stand for the Lok Sabha elections 2024 and said that her party will contest the polls alone. The Indian Air Force's An-32 aircraft, which went missing over the Bay of Bengal in 2016, has been discovered seven years later. On July 22, 2016, the airplane had inexplicably disappeared over the Bay of Bengal, carrying 29 people. The airplane search and rescue operation grew to be one of India's largest. On August 1, 2016, it was discovered that the aircraft lacked an underwater location beacon, and the rescue effort was called off on September 15, 2016. The National Institute of Ocean Technology employed an AUV to identify a missing aircraft on the seabed about 310 kilometers off the coast of Chennai. The search was carried out at a depth of 3400 m with various payloads. The search images were scrutinized and found to be conforming with an An-32 aircraft.
