Talks around taking back the Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir have again gained the limelight in India. Political experts speculate that the Modi govt might take some actions soon to take back the PoK. The Narendra Modi Govt is reserving 24 seats for Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir in the J&K Assembly. Home Minister Amit Shah reaffirmed in the Parliament that “Pakistan Occupied Kashmir is ours”. Notably, the Supreme Court of India on December 11 upheld the abrogation of Article 370. Also, the Apex Court has directed the Election Commission of India to conduct elections in J&K by September 2024. Soon after SC’s verdict, PM Modi took to ‘X’, shared a post in Urdu, and called it a “ray of hope for Naya Kashmir”.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Saturday said that China and Pakistan are planning big, adding that "Doklam, Tawang preparation is for something big." Both China and Pakistan are working together not only militarily but also economically, he said. Gandhi also said that he not only had respect for the army but also love and affection for it. His remarks against the backdrop of the clashes between Indian and Chinese PLA troops along the section of the Line of Actual Control (LAC) at Yangtse, some 35 km north-east of Tawang in the west Arunachal Pradesh. According to sources, some of both Indian and Chinese soldiers were injured in the face-off and six of the Indian injured had been admitted to the military hospital at Guwahati. However, there were no serious injuries or deaths.
