A trader in the wholesale spices market of Vashi's APMC Market, Mumbai’s biggest mandi, has tested positive for COVID-19 causing panic among members. The mathadi workers union has decided to call for a market shut down on April 10, fearing for the safety of the over 12,000 workers at APMC. Watch the video for details.

With the Coronavirus lockdown extended till May 3, the APMC market in Vashi is set to reopen in a phased manner from April 15 onwards. In a meeting held on Monday, it was decided that the onion, potato and garlic and vegetable markets will reopen amid strict supervision.
