Ther's a lot of political crisis going on in Hiamchal Pradesh right now. Six Congress MLAs who cross voted in favour of the Bhartiya Janta Party during the Rajya Sabha election, have been disqualified by Assembly Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania. The detained MLA's include Rajinder Rana, Sudhir Sharma, Inder Dutt Lakhanpal, Devinder Kumar Bhutoo, Ravi Thakur, and Chetanya Sharma. With the six rebel MLAs disqualified the strength of the house comes down from 68 to 62 and the halfway mark is 32. With the loss of 6 MLAs the Congress now has 34 MLAs and the BJP with independents has 28. The fortunes of the Congress will now rest on its ability to keep the rest of its flock together.

Concerning the recent developments in Bihar politics, Senior Congress leader Jairam Ramesh on January 29 took a sharp jibe at Bihar CM Nitish Kumar who parted ways with the INDIA bloc and ‘Mahagathbandhan’ to form a government with the NDA alliance. He said, “Nitish had called for a meeting of the alliance in Patna. 18 parties were present there. Meetings were held in Bengaluru and Mumbai. In every meeting, Nitish Kumar was present but he did not give any kind of hint. In Bihar, many politicians are meteorologists. Some are “Aaya Kumar, and Gaya Kumar” who give tough competition to chameleons. This is very sad that he left our hand. It is like a betrayal. People of Bihar, at the right time, will answer Nitish Kumar and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.”

In a recent update on the ongoing development in Bihar politics, after resigning from the post of Bihar’s Chief Minister and ending his alliance with the the Lalu Prasad Yadav's Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and Congress, Nitish Kumar took oath as the Chief Minister of Bihar after he along with his party joined the BJP-led NDA bloc. Nitish Kumar was seen arriving at the Raj Bhavan today evening for the oath ceremony. BJP national president JP Nadda arrived at Raj Bhavan, in Patna to attend the oath ceremony of the new government. This is the 9th time, when Nitish Kumar is taking the oath as the Chief minister of Bihar.

AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi on January 28 slammed Nitish Kumar after he rejoined hands with the Bharatiya Janata Party in Bihar. Reacting on Nitish Kumar Resignation, Owaisi said, “Nitish Kumar, Tejashwi Yadav, PM Modi should apologise to the people of Bihar... All three have betrayed the people of Bihar, especially Nitish Kumar. The term political opportunism will be an understatement, Nitish Kumar has broken all records. I always said Nitish Kumar would go with BJP. I want to ask Tejaswi Yadav how does it feel? He took away four of our MLAs. Does he feel the same pain now? He has been played the same way he played us. Nitish Kumar will just be the face of RSS and Narendra Modi’s governance in Bihar. Tejaswi Yadav and his family have sidelined the people of Bihar and their focus is to only have someone from among them to be the CM. Nitish Kumar wants to be the CM for as long as he lives. BJP just wants everything to themselves, by hook or by crook. The people of Bihar have been betrayed. There is no development in Bihar. Bureaucracy is on the rise in the state. AIMIM always said that political secularism is used to betray Indian Muslims. And now Muslims of Bihar have been betrayed again.”

Amid the Bihar political crisis, as Nitish Kumar resigned from the post of Bihar’s Chief Minister dissolving the current government that was formed through an alliance with the Lalu Prasad Yadav's Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and Congress, Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge reacted to the same. On the other hand, BJP National General Secretary Vinod Tawde said that all the the NDA government in Bihar is being formed for the welfare of the people. Union Minister and BJP MP Giriraj Singh thanked Nitish Kumar for resigning. Amid the ongoing Bihar political crisis, Nitish Kumar has resigned as Bihar Chief Minister. Nitish Kumar tendered his resignation as the Chief Minister of Bihar to Governor Rajendra Arlekar. The Governor accepted the resignation and deputed him as the Acting CM. For days it was speculated that Nitish Kumar would join the BJP-led NDA. He is expected to rejoin NDA possibly later today, marking his return to the BJP led alliance. This has come as a jolt to the opposition headed I-N-D–I-A alliance as he was a key member. In his recent stint, he served as the Chief Minister of Bihar in alliance with the Lalu Prasad Yadav's Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and Congress. Earlier in the morning, BJP leaders gathered in Patna for a party meeting. Though the leaders were mum about the ongoing RJD-JDU rift, speculations of a coalition were high.

Former Opposition leader of Maharashtra Vijay Wadettiwar claimed preparations are on to replace Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on "health grounds" after admitting him to a hospital. He also claimed Nationalist Congress Party chief Sharad Pawar and Deputy CM Ajit Pawar met in Pune recently amid speculation about Shinde's likely replacement as the CM of Maharashtra. Meanwhile, NCP working President Supriya Sule on August 16 dispelled rumours surrounding her and Sharad Pawar getting offers for certain cabinet positions. She said that she clearly has not received any such offers for any positions at the Centre. She also denounced the comments of Vijay Wadettiwar.

Four persons have died due to a major landslide in Irshalwadi village of Khalapur tehsil of Maharashtra’s Raigad. At least three persons sustained injuries in the incident. Rescue operation is underway, so far, 30 people have been rescued. Soon after the incident, the Raigad Police set up a control room to monitor the situation. Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde arrived at the site of the landslide in Irshalwadi village and took stock of the situation. NDRF teams have rushed to the site amid reports of at least 100 persons feared to be trapped. The landslide occurred around 11 pm on Wednesday at Irshalwadi village in Khalapur tehsil. Home Minister Amit Shah Condoled the lost lives in the incident.
