Former President Pranab Mukherjee is a name synonym to Indian politics. From working as a clerk to teaching Political Science to college students; from managing by-election campaign to becoming the 13th President of India and being conferred with Bharat Ratna, Pranab da as he was fondly called truly etched a name for himself in the history of Indian politics. Former President and veteran Congress leader Pranab Mukherjee passed away in New Delhi on August 31, 2020, at the age of 84. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, President Ram Nath Kovind, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla and politicians from across parties and hundreds of people armed with face masks and PPE kits paid homage to the "crisis man" of India at his funeral, held at Lodhi Road crematorium following a strict COVID-19 precautionary protocol.
