Political strategist-turned-politician Prashant Kishor has secured a landmark victory in the Bankipur Assembly bypoll, marking a major breakthrough for his Jan Suraaj Party. The win comes in Kishor's electoral debut and represents a significant milestone after Jan Suraaj failed to win a seat in the previous Bihar Assembly elections. During the campaign, Kishor focused on issues such as migration, employment, education and governance, positioning the bypoll as a referendum on Bihar's future.

While protest over BPSC paper leak continues, Lok Sabha MP Pappu Yadav on January 07 said that Jan Suraaj Chief Prashant Kishor should enrol himself in any drama show. He also said that he has called for ‘Bihar Bandh’ for January 12. On 6th January, Prashant Kishor was arrested for “illegal” fast unto death and granted unconditional bail shortly after. He has been hospitalised due to dehydration and infection.
