Nepal earthquake has ravaged Nepal with immense loss of lives and property sending shockwaves around the world. In the wake of the catastrophe, Nepalese PM Pushpa Kamal Dahal arrived at the affected areas and took stock of the situation. After assessing the situation, PM Dahal immediately called for a cabinet meeting of the Disaster Management Committee tomorrow. Nepal was jolted by a massive 6.6-magnitude earthquake on the late night of November 03 and continued to feel aftershocks, with a magnitude of 3.3. Meanwhile, Indian PM Narendra Modi had expressed his condolences as he said that he is ‘deeply saddened’ by the loss of lives. India also released an emergency contact number for Indians who require urgent assistance. Efforts are underway to provide medical assistance to those injured in the earthquake. The earthquake's impact has not been confined to Nepal alone, tremors were felt in several districts of North India, including Delhi-NCR, UP, and Bihar.

69th National Film Awards: On October 17th, 2023, a ceremony was held at Vigyan Bhawan in Delhi, where the National Award winners were felicitated by none other than President Droupadi Murmu. The winners were previously announced at a press conference for the 69th National Film Awards in August. A total of 280 feature films from 28 languages and 158 non-feature films in 23 languages were submitted to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting for National Award consideration. Nepal Prime Minister Pushpakamal Dahal Prachanda, who is on a four-day visit to India, Thursday urged PM Narendra Modi to resolve border issues between the two countries through bilateral talks. Prachanda’s India visit also marks his first bilateral trip abroad after assuming office in December last year. Addressing a joint press meet at Hyderabad House in Delhi, Prachanda said he has extended a cordial invitation to PM Modi to visit Nepal.
