DMK leader and minister for fisheries and animal husbandry Anitha R Radhakrishnan rolled out an advertisement in the Tamil newspapers on Wednesday. The ad had an image of a rocket with a Chinese flag on its nose cone, instead of the image of an IRSO rocket. The ad was intended to celebrate New space sport in Kulasekarapattinam. BJP has accused DMK of disrespecting Indian's sovereignty. Prime Minister Modi who is on a two day visit to Tamil Nadu said that the ad insulted Indian scientists and is a waste of public money. A woman died and 17 others were injured after the stage collapsed during Jagran ceremony at Kalkaji Mandir in Delhi on Jan 27. According to Delhi Police, no permission was granted to hold the event, however, sufficient staff was deployed to maintain law and order. As per the temple’s priest, renowned singers like B Praak, Kanhaiya Mittal were present. There was a huge crowd in a tightly-packed venue. The kalkaji mandir tragedy happened when scores of devotees climbed the main stage to catch a glimpse of Punjabi musician B Praak. All the injured were shifted to the city’s AIIMS Trauma Centre, Safdarjung Hospital and MAX Hospital.

A boat carrying children capsized in Vadodara's Harni Motnath Lake on January 18. 12 school children and two teachers were killed due to a boat capsizing incident. School children were on a picnic in Vadodara's Harni Motnath Lake when the mishap took place. The NDRF team is carrying out the rescue operations and rescued 20 people so far. Prime Minister Modi condoled the loss of lives due to a boat capsizing in Vadodara. He also announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh each to the next of kin of the deceased. Meanwhile, Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel reached the incident site and inspected the rescue operations. The CM has ordered a strong inquiry and relevant sections of IPC have been invoked against accused. FIR has been registered and 9 teams have been formed to arrest the accused. CM Bhupendra Patel also visited the postmortem centre located at SSG Hospital in Vadodara. He also met the families of the children who lost their lives in the boat capsize incident. State Govt has announced Rs 4 Lakhs each for the next of kin of deceased, Rs 50,000 for injured.

Amid the Israel-Hamas Conflict, The sight of destruction in Gaza is far from ending as the conflict between Israel-Palestine entered day 26. Thousands of Israeli missiles continued to pound Hamas’ targets killing top commanders of the militant group. Massive bombings, explosions were heard near the Gaza border on Oct 27 after Israel stepped up its operations. Also, an IAF aircraft, guided by ground forces, struck a Hamas post killing over 20 terrorist operatives in it, said IDF. Meanwhile, a new visual emerged from Gaza which showed Israeli soldiers entering Gaza strip. Armed soldiers, rolling tanks could be seen launching its ground operation inside Gaza. Ground troops struck Hamas outpost in the northern area of Gaza strip, including anti-tank missile launching cells and posts. The tunnels under the cramped enclave are a prime objective for Israel as it expands a four-day-old ground offensive. Also, 8,525 people have been killed in Israeli attacks since Oct 7, said Gaza health authorities.

Amid the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict, the string of anti-Jewish protests by pro-Palestinians held across the world gained a major flash point on October 29. Scores of Pro-Palestinians carried Palestinian flag and chanted religious slogans at Dagestan Airport in Russia. The ‘angry’ crowd invaded the airport facility hunting for Jewish passengers, demonstrating against war in Gaza. Hundreds of protesters were seen entering the air terminal and then storming various rooms inside. The mob also scuffled with airport police and they reportedly blocked the runway and tried to overturn a police vehicle. Soon after the incident, Israel urged Russian authorities to protect Israelis and Jews in their jurisdictions. However, Russian Aviation Authority Rosaviatsia said that all "unauthorised citizens" had been removed from Makhachkala Airport. Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy launched an attack on Russia over the incident.

Drone visuals show the aftermath of the Andhra train accident. The deadly collision of the trains has led to immense loss of lives. The death toll has mounted to 11 and at least 50 people were injured in the tragic accident. The tragic train accident in Andhra Pradesh’s Vizianagram district has jolted the nation. One of the trains was operating from Vizianagram to Rayagada, Odisha. The other train was going from Visakhapatnam to Palasa, Andhra Pradesh.
