Heavy rainfall was witnessed in several areas of Mumbai on July 19. The India Metrological Department has issued a Red Alert for Palghar and Raigad districts. Also, an Orange Alert has been issued for Thane, Mumbai and Ratnagiri. Heavy showers resulted in flooding at Rasayani police station in Raigad district on Wednesday morning, hampering the work,Due to the downpour, a flood-like situation was witnessed in parts of the district. Meanwhile, Raigad District Collector Yogesh Mhase announced a holiday for all schools and colleges in the district today in view of heavy rains.

Mumbaikars woke up to overcast skies on Wednesday and Thursday morning as parts of the city witnessed rainfall the nights before. Although the intensity of the rainfall was very light,(IMD) officials claim that the quantity was also below the measurable limit. As per IMD's forecast, light rains are expected in the city over the next 72 hours, between March 15-17.
