11 May,2025 04:20 PM ISTA canopy collapsed at Rajkot Airport terminal on June 29 following heavy rains in the city. As per Civil Aviation Ministry, the incident took place during maintenance work. No casualties or injuries have been reported so far and a detailed report into the matter has been sought. This has happened a day after canopy collapsed at Delhi T-1 Airport on June 28. On June 28, the canopy of Delhi IGI Airport T-1 collapsed following heavy rain that killed 1 and injured 6 people. Notably, IMD has predicted moderate to heavy rain for next 7 days for both Delhi and Rajkot.
29 June,2024 06:07 PM ISTGiving the updates on tragic fire incident in Rajkot, Police Commissioner Raju Bhargava informed that till last night they had recovered 27 dead bodies. The DNA samples of 27 dead bodies were collected and sent for sampling to Directorate of Forensic Sciences (DFS) Gujarat on May 26th. A victim's relative demanded justice saying that people who are responsible should get punishment.” FSL team reached the spot as a part of an investigation on May 27 in TRP gaming zone fire incident in Rajkot. Briefing on the tragic fire incident at the TRP Gaming Zone, Rajkot ACP Radhika Bharai on May 27 said that among all the 27 Dead bodies, till now they have identified four people and handed their bodies to their families. Meanwhile the Chief Fire Officer of fire brigade Vadodara Parth Brahmbhatt informed that the game zones in the city will be closed until the next order of the Gujarat government. For the unversed, on May 25, a fatal accident claimed the lives of 27 people. A massive fire broke out at the TRP Gaming Zone in Rajkot in which 27 people lost their lives, including children. Gujarat Police have booked six people in this regard, including its owner and the manager.

The family members of the deceased were seen mourning the loss of their loved ones at the TRP game zone. Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed grief and condoled the loss of lives in the fire through a post on X. Meanwhile, Gujarat government informed an SIT to investigate the matter. SIT Head Subhash Trivedi said that a detailed probe will be conducted and responsible persons will be identified. Following the massive fire incident, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel arrived at the incident site on May 26. CM Bhupendra Patel took stock of the situation and rescue operation. Gujarat Home Minister Harsh Sanghavi was seen briefing the CM about the ongoing rescue operation. Notably, the death toll in the fire tragedy at the gaming zone reached 27, and one person is still missing. Two people, including the owner and manager of the TRP game zone in Rajkot, have been taken to a police station for interrogation. According to officials, the fire broke out at around 4.30 pm. A rescue operation for the same is underway.
