US President Donald Trump has renewed his push for the Nobel Peace Prize, claiming he has settled eight wars and arguing that his record makes him deserving of the prestigious award. Trump has cited the Israel-Hamas conflict, Israel-Iran, India-Pakistan, Armenia-Azerbaijan, Serbia-Kosovo, Rwanda-Congo, Egypt-Ethiopia and Cambodia-Thailand as conflicts he says he helped resolve or de-escalate. However, several of these claims remain disputed, with some conflicts unresolved or experiencing renewed violence.

New details are emerging about Hamam Al Hammami, the Omani co pilot accused of attacking Indian captain Smit Machchhar aboard Flydubai flight FZ1073. Al Hammami previously worked for Oman Air, where reports say extremist material was discovered during his pilot training in 2024. Reports also claim Oman later barred him from flying, raising questions about how he subsequently joined Flydubai. Deleted social media posts have also come under scrutiny, with reports alleging disturbing anti-Jewish content and controversial views about women and mixed gender workplaces.
