‘Pariksha Pe Charcha’ 2024 by PM Modi sees record 1 crore registrations

Over a crore school student, parents and teachers have so far registered for the 7th edition of ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha’ (PPC) 2024, on the MyGov portal. The registration process began on December 11, 2023, and the last date to apply for ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha’ 2024 is January 12, 2024. PM Modi conceptualised this interactive program – ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha’ (PPC) - wherein students, parents, and teachers from across the nation and also from overseas interact with him to discuss anxieties related to examinations and life after school. This event was organised successfully for the last six years by the Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Education. This year, the program will be held on Jan 29, 2024, from 11 am onwards in a town-hall format at Bharat Mandapam. Nearly 4,000 participants will be interacting with the Prime Minister in the program. ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha’ is part of the larger movement ‘Exam Warriors’ led by PM Modi, to create a stress-free atmosphere for youngsters.

Amarnath Yatra 2023: First batch of pilgrims begins journey towards cave shrine

The annual Amarnath Yatra began on July 01 with the first batch of pilgrims from Baltal base camp in Jammu and Kashmir's Ganderbal to Amarnath Cave. It was flagged off by the Deputy Commissioner of Ganderbal, Shyambir, along with senior officials of Amarnath Shrine Board and the police at the Baltal base camp. The government also completed all arrangements for the yatra which results pilgrims being very much satisfied with the facilities including water electricity, food stalls, and medical and tent facilities. The 62-day pilgrimage will culminate on August 31. The pilgrims will undertake a 12-km journey from the base camp to the holy Amarnath cave shrine in the south Kashmir Himalayas located at an altitude of about 13,000 feet. Baltal, in central Kashmir's Ganderbal district, is one of the twin routes for the annual pilgrimage and the other one is the Pahalgam route in south Kashmir's Anantnag district. In preparation for the Yatra, various 'langar' committees started their practice on Wednesday, three days in advance, to cater to the pilgrims.

Kedarnath pilgrimage registrations suspended amid heavy snowfall

Following continuous snowfall and bad weather the registration of pilgrims for Kedarnath has been suspended till May 3, 2023, the officials said on Tuesday. Earlier on April 25 doors of Kedarnath Dham were opened for pilgrims. The Uttarakhand government stopped accepting registration applications from pilgrims for the Kedarnath Dham Yatra in view of heavy snowfall on the pilgrimage route and a warning by the Met Department. The Kedarnath temple is one of the most revered temples in the country dedicated to Lord Shiva and people from across the country visit the temple during the six months when the temple is open.

Kedarnath Dham opened its doors for pilgrims today, April 25 after the holy shrine shut its Kapat on October 26 last year. the registrations for Kedarnath Yatra were halted in Haridwar and Rishikesh due to heavy rain and snowfall. However, pilgrims are now being allowed to visit the Kedarnath Dham as the weather conditions have improved. Ahead of the opening of one of the country's holiest pilgrimage sites, the abode of Lord Shiva was decorated with 20 quintals of flowers.
