PM Modi implemented CAA on 11th of March. After the implementation several doubts have been raised which has now been cleared by the Union Home Minister Amit Shah. He had a detailed discussion on CAA in an interview on 14th March. He was asked about his stance on international media terming CAA as an "anti-muslim" law. To this, he replied, "You cannot see this law in isolation. In 1947, partition was done based on religion... Congress leaders at the time had said that people who migrated could come back anytime. But due to appeasement politics, Congress never fulfilled its promise... "

PM Modi implemented CAA on 11th of March. Spiritual leaders hailed the CAA implementation and heaped praised on Prime Minister Narendra Modi on March 13 and said that it was a much needed law to enable the minority communities of neighboring countries to live with respect and dignity in India. Dastur Khurshed kaikobad Dastoor hailed the CAA and said, “We see it as a welcome step. The Parsis are the most miniscule community in the world. It will be of much help…that they will get citizenship in this holy land, who has always welcomed us.”Acharya Pragya Sagar Ji Maharaj said, “We welcome the CAA. Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) 2019 has been finally implemented in India. The Union Home Ministry has notified rules for implementation of Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) on March 11, days ahead of LS Polls 2024. Home Minister Amit Shah, on multiple occasions, said that CAA rules would be notified ahead of the Lok Sabha elections to be held in April-May. The implementation of CAA triggered a wave of celebration among the refugees. Pakistani refugees on March 12 lauded Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for implementing the Citizenship Amendment Act. In a self-made video shared by Bharatiya Janata Party leader Manoj Tiwari, showed refugees expressing their excitement and praising the Indian Prime Minister.

Citizenship Amendment Act: Modi Government to notify CAA rules soon

In a major breakthrough, a senior Govt official revealed that CAA rules are expected to roll out before Lok Sabha Polls. The Citizenship Amendment Act, introduced by Modi govt, aims to confer Indian citizenship to persecuted non-Muslim migrants. Notably, the act will provide citizenship to non-Muslim migrants which included Hindus, Sikhs, Jains, Buddhists, and others. The implementation of the CAA, which has been delayed for over four years, necessitates the formulation of its associated rules. PM Modi-led Central Government is committed to implementing the Citizenship Amendment Act of 2019. On Dec 27, 2023, Home Minister Amit Shah asserted that implementation of CAA can’t be halted as it stands as the law of the land. He had also accused West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee of misleading the public regarding this matter. Between Apr 1, 2021 & Dec 31, a cumulative count of 1,414 individuals from non-Muslim minorities were granted Indian citizenship.

Union Minister Shekhawat slams Pakistan for violating Indus water treaty rules

Months after Delhi issued a notification to Pakistan for modification of the Indus Waters Treat, Pakistan has finally responded to India’s notice seeking an amendment to the bilateral agreement that was signed in September 1960. According to MEA, Pakistan Foreign Ministry has forwarded a letter that was written by Pakistan's Indus Water Commissioner to its Indian counterpart. Citing Islamabad’s "intransigence" in handling disputes, India said that it will "examine the letter and consult the stakeholders." Meanwhile, Union Minister Gajendra Shekhawat slandered Pakistan for its "dual precedence" in the "purest" treaty.
