Sandeshkhali Violence: As protest intensifies, “Nobody is safe”, says BJP leader

Tensions remained high in the region on Feb 23 as protests flared up for a 10th consecutive day in West Bengal’s Sandeshkhali. Locals of Sandeshkhali and BJP’s Mahila Morcha on Feb 23 protested against the TMC Govt in the Bermajur village of the region. The protestors are seeking justice against alleged atrocities committed by TMC leader Sheikh Shahjahan and his aides. A clash broke out between locals and the police after the police halted the protest. Some female villagers got injured during the Sandeshkhali Violence. Falguni Patra, West Bengal BJP Mahila Morcha President also protested against the Police in Bermajur village. "The people who are being looted, Police are committing atrocities against them. This is the truth of Bengal...nobody is safe...we are being stopped from going there because they don't want the truth to come out...women here are trying to speak to us but Police are scaring them away," said Falguni Patra.

Residents are in shock after Israel rained fire at the Gaza Strip in retaliation. For Khan Younis resident, Alaa Abu Tair, there is no safe place in the Gaza Strip. He was among dozens searching for survivors on Oct 10 at the site of Israeli airstrike. As per Gaza's Health Ministry, at least 687 Palestinians were killed, 3,726 wounded in conflict. Apartment blocks, a mosque hospitals were among the sites reduced to rubble after Israel airstrike. Death toll from Hamas attack had climbed to 900 Israelis, with at least 2,600 injured, and dozens taken captive.

Chandrayaan 3: Vikram lander hops on Moon's surface, lands again safely

ISRO made history by making a soft landing on the Moon’s South pole on August 23. Since then, ISRO continuously shared detailed information on the Chandrayaan-3 mission. On Sept 04, ISRO shared further details of the Mission and said Vikram exceeded its mission objectives. In a recent experiment, ISRO again tested the engines of Vikram Lander which successfully underwent a hop experiment. As per ISRO, Vikram Lander’s ‘hop experiment’ holds significance for further return and human missions.   Pragyan Rover traversed over 100 meters on the Moon’s surface and carried out several operations. Among the findings made, the temperature profile of Moon was checked and traces of Sodium were detected. Meanwhile, Chandrayaan-3’s rover Pragyan has been put into sleep mode after it completed all its assignments. Notably, ISRO also launched its maiden solar mission ‘Aditya-L1’ from Sriharikota on September 02.

A day after fresh clashes erupted in several parts of Northeastern state Manipur, The Indian Army and Assam Rifles remained committed to undertaking people-friendly operations. The Indian soldiers also made sure the safety of Manipuri citizens and evacuated thousands of villagers from the clash-hit areas. Indian Army had deployed mine-protected vehicles, and area domination patrols were put in place to ensure safe and incident-free evacuation. After being safely evacuated, the villagers expressed gratitude to the Indian soldiers. Manipur has been under the severe grip of violent clashes since May 3. Union Home Minister Amit Shah on May 29 chaired a meeting with Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh and ministers of the state, senior leaders and officials here to assess the situation and plan further steps to restore normalcy in the region.
