  • 5th edition of the Independence Trash Dash

    It was a sultry Saturday morning at Borivali's Sanjay Gandhi National Park. 130 volunteers had signed up for the 5th edition of the Independence Trash Dash, organised by Natura Outdoor Education Trust (NOET) and supported by Reef Watch and Rotaract Club of Mumbai Downtown. The drive was to cover a 3.5 km stretch of the public access area within the park and make it a litter-free zone. In 2 and a half hours, the group managed to collect 833 kgs of trash. Prizes were given to almost 5 winners. Participants came from a South Mumbai college and a coaching class in the suburbs. Log on to noetindia.org for further initiatives to clean Mumbai.
