BMC's Mumbai Coastal Road Project Arch String Girder (Bridge) was successfully installed on April 26. After a lot of anticipation finally, Mumbai Coastal Road Project and Bandra-Worli Sea Link got connected successfully. Earlier, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) allocated Rs 3200 crore for its ambitious Mumbai Coastal Road project in its 2022-23 budget. As per BMC data, the coastal road project got the highest share of budget allocation by BMC for the year 2022-23 at 17 per cent. This will benefit commuters, especially during peak hours in the morning and the evening when there's heavy traffic. Speaking to ANI, General Manager Planning of Hindustan Construction Company, Pawan Padiyar said, “The Bandra-Worli Sea Link was also constructed by Hindustan Construction Company, one of the iconic project in Mumbai. We are glad this time also we have constructed this iconic bridge for costal road. It is also adjacent to Bandra-Worli Sea Link. It is changing the aesthetics of Mumbai.” He further informed about the materials that were used in constructing this massive bridge.

Ahead of the Lok Sabha elections 2024, Union Minister Smriti Irani held a special interaction with businessmen in Bengaluru, Karnataka on April 05. In this special meeting, she urged the audience to vote for BJP in order to make India a developed country and the third-largest economy in the world. She also took a dig at the opposition, the Gandhi family and their politics over the years. She went ahead and also criticized them for rejecting the invitation to the inauguration ceremony of Ram Temple in Ayodhya. The Home Voting for first phase of Lok Sabha election began in Rajasthan on April 5. The home voting facility announced by Election Commission of India has been extended to senior citizens above 85 years of age and voters with over 40 percent disability. In Jaipur Lok Sabha constituency, a total of 3,632 eligible voters, including 3,134 voters above 85 years of age and 498 voters with more than 40 percent disability, have applied for home voting facility. In Jaipur Rural Lok Sabha constituency, a total of 3, 971 eligible voters, including 3,130 voters above 85 years of age and 841 voters with more than 40 percent disability, have applied for home voting facility. In the first phase home voting facility will be provided till April 13 from morning 7 AM to 6 PM. Under the second phase home voting facility will be provided for absentee voters on 15th April and 16th April. Special polling teams have been assigned for Home voting facility. Each polling team includes two polling officers, one micro observer, one policeman and one videographer.

Addressing a press conference in Mumbai, Sanjay Nirupam lashed out at Congress leadership and said, “I made an announcement yesterday and sent my resignation to Mallikarjun Kharge at around 10:40. The Indian Navy saved 23 Pakistani nationals from Somali pirates during a 12-hour-long operation in the Arabian Sea. The rescue unfolded in the early hours of March 29 when INS Sumedha intercepted the hijacked vessel FV Al-Kambar. INS Sumedha was soon joined by the guided missile frigate INS Trishul to bolster the operation. Indian naval forces initiated negotiations with the pirates, compelling them to surrender without bloodshed. Following the apprehension of pirates, the navy personnel thoroughly carried out the sanitisation of the vessel. The Iranian vessel was approximately 90 Nm south-west of Socotra and was reported to have been boarded by nine armed pirates. Notably, the Indian Navy has carried out several high-octane operations against piracy attacks lately. Also, this is not the first time that Indian Navy has come forward to rescue Pakistan nationals. In January this year, 19 Pakistanis were rescued from Iranian-flagged fishing vessel, Al Naeemi which was attacked by pirates. Also, earlier this month, Indian Navy intercepted the under-attack ship Ruen and 35 Somali pirates were made to surrender.
