Trishakti Corps of the Indian Army conducted a training exercise, involving the firing of anti-tank guided missiles. The exercise was conducted at a super high-altitude area of 17,000 feet in Sikkim on April 12. Missile-firing detachments from mechanised and infantry units of the entire Eastern Command participated. The exercise encompassed comprehensive continuity training and live firing from different platforms. It included moving as well as static targets which depicted actual battlefield conditions for the commandos. The ATGM system's performance in high-altitude environments reaffirms the aim of 'Ek Missile Ek Tank'.

As part of the ongoing exercise Gagan Shakti-24, Indian Air Force (IAF) aircraft recently operated from the Emergency Landing Facility (ELF) in the northern sector in Kashmir valley. A large number of troops were airlifted and subsequently air landed utilising Chinook, Mi-17 V5 and ALH Mk-III helicopters by night.IAF also plans to practise similar drills in coordination with administration of State Governments for activation of ELFs in other sectors. Various IAF fixed and rotary wing platforms will carry out coordinated landing and operations at these ELFs. Whole-of-the-Nation-Approach (WNA). ELF operations provide an opportunity for IAF aircraft to undertake operations from such restricted landing surfaces while also being able to undertake Humanitarian Assistance in Disaster Relief operations during times of natural calamities to provide relief. The capability to operate by night at these stretches of highways, and the capability to transfer troops from such surfaces will greatly enhance the operational capabilities of Indian Armed Force.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with the leaders of 30 countries witnessed the 'Bharat Shakti' Tri-Service Exercise. The Indian Army, Indian Navy and Air Force performed a firepower demonstration in Pokhran, Rajasthan. The war exercise displayed the firepower capability of indigenous weapons and the operational readiness of all three services of the Defence forces. The Bharat Shakti exercise, in line with the Aatmanirbharata initiative, showcased India's defence prowess through realistic multi-domain operations. In a big setback to the faction led by Sharad Pawar, the Election Commission on February 06 settled the dispute in the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) in favour of the faction led by the petitioner Ajit Pawar. Celebration took over at Ajit Pawar Camp, as EC settled dispute in NCP. The poll panel has given the NCP name and symbol to the faction led by Ajit Pawar in a significant decision that has a bearing on the forthcoming polls. The decision was taken after more than 10 hearings spread over more than six months. Maharashtra Dy CM and petitioner Ajit Pawar welcomed the decision and expressed gratitude to EC for the decision. Meanwhile, NCP Sharad Pawar Faction leader Supriya Sule alleged an “Adrishya Shakti” behind the EC’s decision. Shiva Sena (UBT) leader Priyanka Chaturvedi called the development “Sponsored, planned and executed by Central Govt”. Notably, test of majority in legislative wing found favour in the circumstance of the case, where both groups have been found to be working outside party constitution and organizational elections.

As India celebrates its 75th Republic Day today, a grand display of military prowess, culture and women empowerment was seen in India’s Republic Day parade 2024. India's 'Nari Shakti' was on display as women soldiers marched down the Kartavya Path on the occasion of Republic Day 2024. Also in the parade, for the first time ever, the parade was being heralded by over 100 women artists playing Indian musical instruments in a grand display of women empowerment in India. Earlier in the ceremony, President Droupadi Murmu unfurled the National Flag at Kartavya Path. The ceremony was followed by the National anthem and a 21 Gun salute. President Droupadi Murmu was given the national salute by the President's Bodyguard at the forecourt of Rashtrapati Bhawan.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday was overwhelmed with emotions as he dedicated more than 90,000 houses completed under PMAY-Urban in Maharashtra. A total of 15,000 newly constructed houses of Raynagar Housing Society in Solapur were handed over to beneficiaries, including handloom workers, vendors, power loom workers, rag pickers, Bidi workers, drivers, and others. Addressing a gathering in Solapur, the prime minister said, “Under the PM Awas Yojana, the inauguration of the country's largest society has taken place." Fighting back his tears, he added, “I went to see it and wished if I had a chance to live in such a house when I was a kid. I feel content when I see that the dreams of thousands of families have been fulfilled. And their blessings are the biggest asset for me.”
