Concern is mounting over the health of environmental activist Sonam Wangchuk as his indefinite hunger strike enters its 18th day, with supporters, public figures and political leaders urging him to end the fast amid fears of serious medical complications. According to those associated with the protest, Wangchuk has lost 9.1 kilograms while surviving only on salt water during the ongoing fast. His deteriorating health has prompted growing calls for immediate medical intervention, with an urgent petition now set to be heard by the Delhi High Court seeking appropriate medical assistance. Wangchuk has continued the hunger strike in support of demands linked to education reforms, with protesters also calling for Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan's resignation over the NEET paper leak controversy. The Centre, meanwhile, has maintained its position, with Pradhan describing the CJP as a "disruptive force" while the government has not entered into formal engagement with the protesters. WATCH
