Congress leader Shashi Tharoor on March 12 said that the implementation of CAA is morally and constitutionally wrong and that he is in favour of Congress and INDI Alliance to take the implementation of CAA in the Supreme Court and raise objections against it. On top of that Thiruvananthapuram MP said that Congress will withdraw the provision of CAA if voted to power. “I consider this morally and constitutionally wrong... I'm fully in support of the decision of the Indian Union Muslim League to go to the Supreme Court against this. And I must say, if the INDIA alliance and the Congress party come to power, we will withdraw this provision of the law beyond any shadow of a doubt. It's going to be in our manifesto. A big diplomatic win for India; 8 of the former Navy officials were freed by Qatar on February 12. Former Navy men were accused of allegedly spying on a submarine programme and were sentenced to Qatar Death penalty. Meanwhile, Congress leader Shashi Tharoor congratulated those who worked behind the scenes for their release. Seven of the total eight former Indian Navy personnel returned home from Qatar on February 12. The capital punishment was later commuted to an extended prison term following diplomatic intervention by MEA. A day after TMC MP Mahua Moitra appeared before the Lok Sabha Ethics Committee over cash-for-query cash, the committee chairman and members revealed on November 3 what happened during the hearing. All the committee members alleged that the TMC MP went beyond the level of decency and used filthy language. Senior Congress leader Shashi Tharoor on Monday slammed the circulation of photographs showing him with Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra, saying that it was “an act of cheap politics”. The Thiruvananthapuram MP said that the photographs were taken during Moitra's birthday party, which was attended by around 15 persons, including his sister. He said that photographs were cropped before being shared on social media by trolls.
