Watch: Tejas MK-1A successfully completes its maiden flight

In a historic milestone, indigenous LCA Mark 1A fighter aircraft on March 28 completed its first flight. The aircraft airborne for 15 minutes during its first maiden flight, as per Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL). Currently, two squadrons of IAF, 45 Squadron and 18 Squadron, are fully operational with LCA Tejas. HAL has current capacity to build 8 LCA aircraft per year, this is being increased to 16 aircraft's every year by 2025. In coming years the capacity will be further increased to 24 aircraft every year in the next 3 years. Over Rs 9000 crore have been sanctioned for the development of LCA Mk 2, an updated and advanced version of LCA Tejas. Earlier in the 2023, Air Chief Marshal stated that the Indian Air Force aims to replace the MiG-21 fighter jets with LCA Tejas.

Haryana BJP MP Bijendra Singh quits BJP, joins Congress

BJP has faced a major setback in Haryana. BJP leader and Lok Sabha MP from Hisar, Brijendra Singh joined Congress on March 10 ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections 2024. Brijendra joined the party in the presence of Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge. Brijendra took to X and wrote that he resigned because of compelling political reasons. Brijendra Singh also said that there is a possibility of other BJP members joining Congress in Haryana. "I have resigned from the primary membership of BJP, due to compelling political reasons. I extend gratitude to the party, National President Sh. JP Nadda, Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi, & Sh Amit Shah for giving me the opportunity to serve as the Member of Parliament for Hisar," he wrote on X.

PM Modi on 27th February, met German singer Cassandra Mae Spittsman and her mother in Tamil Nadu's Palladam. The German singer is known for singing songs, especially devotional ones in several Indian languages. While meeting PM Modi on Tuesday, she sang Achyutam Keshavam and a Tamil song as well. Previously, in one of his ‘Mann Ki Baat’ episodes, PM Modi had appreciated the singer’s passion for Indian music and culture. He was also seen praising her performance in the viral clip. This is Cassandra's first India visit. She sang two songs for PM Modi's show. Group Captain Prashanth Nair, Ajit Krishnan, Angad Pratap and Wing Commander Shubhanshu Shukla will join the mission. PM Modi reviewed the progress of Gaganyaan Mission and bestowed astronaut wings to the astronaut designates.
