It is India’s smallest UT; Lakshadweep is an archipelago consisting of 36 islands with an area of 32 sq km. It comprises of 12 atolls, three reefs, five submerged banks and ten inhabited islands.

A high-mast national flag at Tango Top in Anantnag has been inaugurated by the J&K Police along with the district administration to honour the nationalistic sentiments of the people of Anantnag ahead of the Independence Day 2023. The high-mast national flag, which is visible up to 10 kms in all directions, would become a landmark of South Kashmir. Brig Amandeep Malhi, VSM, Cdr 1 Sect RR along with DIGP South Kashmir Range Rayees Mohammad Bhat, IPS, hoisted the flag. The work for the installation of the flag started with effect from June 2023. Given the history of South Kashmir, this Tricolour would be a symbol of unity and peace and would be referred to as “The Tricolour of Unity”.
