The Matunga school started on the front foot with Devele producing the decisive moment in the 10th minute.

Rudra Tambe swiftly reached for a cross sent in from the right by teammate Sharv Kamtekar to head home the winner (20th minute).

Earlier, they beat hosts Father Agnel 1-0 in the semi-final, with Umar Mukadam finding the net.

After the break, Sharv netted the equaliser (25th min), reacting to a rebound inside the box and calmly slotting home

In a men’s tie, Rohan Pawar and Arun Yadav scored as GM Police beat Companeroes 2-1. Pranit Naik netted for Companeroes

Warriors FC scored an emphatic 4-0 win over NBCs ‘A’ in a women’s seniors match of the St Peter’s Cup hockey tournament at the St Stanislaus High School ground, Bandra, recently. 

In a men’s seniors match, Bhavik Chandane scored both goals as Savio Hockey beat Companeroes 2-1. Christiano Correia netted for Companeroes.

Both teams had quite a few scoring chances, but the goalkeepers, Scottish Moraes of Millwall and Justin Dias of Maccabi stood tall, taking the goalless encounter into the tie-breaker
