A three-storey building collapsed on the premises of the Swaminarayan temple in the George Town area of Prayagraj on Friday night. The 12-room structure had reportedly developed cracks and had been closed for about a week before the collapse. Temple authorities said construction work was underway behind the building and a pit dug for the project had remained filled with water for an extended period, which is believed to have weakened the foundation. No one was inside the building when it collapsed and no casualties or injuries were reported. (Pic/PTI)
