In a major success for security forces, five Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists were gunned down in Kulgam, J&K on November 17. The terrorists were eliminated during a joint operation by security forces at the Samnoo area of Kulgam. Army’s 34 Rashtriya Riffles, 9 Para (elite special forces unit), Police, and CRPF are carrying out the operation.

Prisoners have undergone training to make these candles and the required infrastructure has also been provided to them. The inmates are also extremely happy that they are doing something productive. Diwali candle is an integral part of Diwali celebrations as it signifies the victory of good over evil. Decorating the house with candles and diyas is a norm followed on Diwali. With the rising demand, Lavender cultivation across Jammu and Kashmir has amplified. Hundreds of farmers are shifting to lavender cultivation in the Pulwama district of South Kashmir which has proved very profitable. Farmers traditionally in J&K grew cereals such as maize, rice and millet which didn’t provide great returns but after lavender cultivation, their earnings have gone up several times. The Kashmiri unemployed youth has also started practising lavender farming as it helps to generate revenue at a high level and they are happy with farming of unconventional aromatic plants. Jammu and Kashmir’s lavender cultivation is changing their fortunes.

During the joint press briefing, PM Modi said, “Anthony Albanese and I have in the past discussed the issue of attack on temples in Australia and activities of separatist elements. We discussed the matter today also. We will not accept any elements that harm the friendly and warm ties between the India-Australia relationship by their action or thoughts. Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to the personnel of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) who had lost their lives in the Pulwama attack on this day four years ago. The official account of the Congress party took onto Twitter asking the ruling party slew of questions. In one of the deadliest attacks on Indian security forces, 40 CRPF personnel were killed when an explosive-laden vehicle rammed the bus ferrying them from Jammu to Srinagar on February 14, 2019.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Mumbai today and was received at the airport by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Governor Bhagat Singh Koshiyari. PM Modi, along with Union ministers Piyush Goyal, Ramdas Athavale and Bhagwat Karad reached BKC’s MMRDA ground to address a public rally and inaugurate several development projects, including the metro services, the Mumbai One App and NMMC Card. He also inaugurated 20 Babasaheb Apla davakhanas and initiated the redevelopment of municipal hospitals at Oshiwara, Goregaon, Bhandup. The ministry of home affairs (MHA) on Friday banned People’s Anti-Fascist Front (PAFF), an offshoot of Jaish-e-Mohammed, under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA). The move came a day after home ministry banned The Resistance Front, an offshoot of Lashkar-e-Taiba, for carrying out terror activities in Kashmir.
