5 Lashkar-e-Taiba Terrorists Eliminated During A Joint Operation In Kulgam

In a major success for security forces, five Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists were gunned down in Kulgam, J&K on November 17. The terrorists were eliminated during a joint operation by security forces at the Samnoo area of Kulgam. Army’s 34 Rashtriya Riffles, 9 Para (elite special forces unit), Police, and CRPF are carrying out the operation.

With the rising demand, Lavender cultivation across Jammu and Kashmir has amplified. Hundreds of farmers are shifting to lavender cultivation in the Pulwama district of South Kashmir which has proved very profitable. Farmers traditionally in J&K grew cereals such as maize, rice and millet which didn’t provide great returns but after lavender cultivation, their earnings have gone up several times. The Kashmiri unemployed youth has also started practising lavender farming as it helps to generate revenue at a high level and they are happy with farming of unconventional aromatic plants. Jammu and Kashmir’s lavender cultivation is changing their fortunes.

PM Modi Kickstarts Projects Worth Rs 38,000 crores In Mumbai

Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Mumbai today and was received at the airport by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Governor Bhagat Singh Koshiyari. PM Modi, along with Union ministers Piyush Goyal, Ramdas Athavale and Bhagwat Karad reached BKC’s MMRDA ground to address a public rally and inaugurate several development projects, including the metro services, the Mumbai One App and NMMC Card. He also inaugurated 20 Babasaheb Apla davakhanas and initiated the redevelopment of municipal hospitals at Oshiwara, Goregaon, Bhandup. PM also started seven waste water treatment facilities with 2464 capacity mld, and boosted concretisation of road works worth rs 6079 crores. His visit also included the initiation of redevelopment of csmt and transferring money directly to 1 lakh plus beneficiaries under the PM Svanidhi Fund.
