Para-athlete Suvarna Raj, who has represented the country in global events, on February 3 accused the IndiGo airline crew of 'mistreatment', saying she requested the carrier to provide her a personal wheelchair at the aircraft door but the staff did not respond. On the IndiGo’s mistreatment, Suvarna alleged that she was mistreated by IndiGo crew members while taking a flight from New Delhi to Chennai. Suvarna had booked seat number 39D(Aisle) on the Chennai-bound flight on Friday. Interpol issues red corner notice against Khalistani leader Karanvir Singh

Amid the widening diplomatic rift between India and Canada, Interpol has issued red corner notice against a Khalistani terrorist. Member of Babbar Khalsa International, 38-year-old Karanvir Singh is on Interpol’s radar. According to intelligence sources, Singh is believed to be hiding in Pakistan. According to Interpol, Singh is wanted by India for criminal conspiracy, murder, raising funds for terrorist acts, and more. The Red Corner Notice against the wanted pro-Khalistani leader comes amid a diplomatic spat between New Delhi and Ottawa. NIA has also launched a massive crackdown against designated Khalistani terrorists. Recently, the properties of Gurpatwant Singh Pannun and Hardeep Singh Nijjar were confiscated. Hardeep Singh Nijjar was shot dead outside a Gurudwara in Canada’s Surrey in June 2023. Justin Trudeau claimed to have “credible allegations” of involvement of Indian agents in Nijjar’s killing. A senior Indian diplomat was expelled by the Canadian government and India retaliated the same way.

Mumbai Rains: IMD issues orange alert for Mumbai, Thane, Palghar, Raigad

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday issued an orange alert for heavy rains in Mumbai, Thane, Palghar, Raigad, Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg. While a yellow alert has been issued for Mumbai on June 29 and 30. As per the Regional Meteorological Centre, the island city, eastern and western suburbs received 12.44 mm, 42.41 mm and 40.46 mm of rainfall respectively between 8 am to 12 noon on Wednesday. In the last 24 hours, there were 26 incidents of tree fall, 15 short-circuits, and five incidents of collapse/partial collapse of houses in Mumbai, as per the civic body. There was no report of any major water-logging in low-lying areas, officials of the BMC informed. Suburban trains on the Central Railway and Western Railway routes were running normally, though they were delayed by a few minutes, informed railway officials. Andheri subway was flooded because of heavy downpour but traffic was running smoothly soon and there was no major waterlogging. IMD scientist Soma Sen said, "The monsoon is active currently with its rapid advancement in the last 4-5 days. Leaving some parts of northwest India, the monsoon has impacted almost the entire country. Entire Gujarat and south-east Rajasthan have been covered by the monsoon. In the next two days, it is expected that south Punjab, Haryana and the remaining parts of Rajasthan will be covered."
