CCTV footage from the Israeli’s Sderot showed the first moments of the surprise Hamas attack on October 7. Militants begin a rampage through nearby communities, eventually killing scores of people, kidnapped others. Videos show pickup trucks carrying Hamas militants driving through the city, targeting several vehicles on their way. In the videos, two people were seen running from their vehicles after they encountered the militants entering the city. The date of the footage was verified by the timestamp and the course armed vehicles had taken. The attack by the Palestinian militant group killed at least 1,400 Israelis, mostly civilians. Israeli forces have carried out their fiercest bombardment of Gaza in response, killing more than 3,000 Palestinians.

Giving a warning to the residents of Gaza, Netanyahu said that they would operate forcefully everywhere. The Islamist group Hamas took Israel by surprise earlier on October 07 with one of the biggest attacks in decades. Israel witnessed a sudden assault by gunmen who crossed into Israeli villages, bringing hostages back into the Gaza Strip. According to Reuters, at least 250 Israelis were killed and 900 were injured. Over 230 Gazans were also killed when Israel responded with retaliatory strikes. Israel responded with massive air strikes deep inside the coastal enclave, killing scores and wounding hundreds. The Western Nations have extended support to Israel including the US, the UK, France.

Former PM Manmohan Singh came to the Parliament to participate in the crucial Rajya Sabha session on August 07. The Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi (Amendment) Bill, 2023 was being discussed. 90-year-old former PM Manmohan Singh was seen sitting on a wheelchair in the Parliament. The Congress party has issued a three-line whip for its MPs, urging them to be present in the Rajya Sabha. Home Minister Amit Shah moved the GNCT of Delhi (Amendment) Bill, 2023, for passage in the House. The Bill was passed after a division in which 131 MPs voted in favour of the legislation and 102 against it. The Opposition members moved a resolution disapproving the ordinance brought by the government in May this year. The bill empowers the Central Government to make rules in connection with the affairs of the Government of the NCT of Delhi. Amit Shah also lashed out at Congress, reminding that the government was not making amendments to impose “Emergency”.
