The Madhya Pradesh High Court has delivered a landmark verdict in the decades-old Bhojshala-Kamal Maula dispute in Dhar, declaring the disputed complex a temple dedicated to Goddess Vagdevi (Saraswati). The court dismissed the Muslim side’s claim over the site and cancelled the 2003 ASI arrangement that allowed Friday namaz at the premises. While the ASI will continue managing the monument, the right to perform religious rituals has now been granted to the Hindu side. Congress leader Arif Masood rejected the verdict, saying, “We are not accepting today’s decision of the High Court.”
