The electricity generated from the project will be supplied to Tata Power Mumbai Distribution to help meet its Renewable Purchase Obligation (RPO) targets and support its transition towards cleaner energy

At the core of the expansion plan is a 400 kV transmission ring connecting Vikhroli, Dharavi, Mahalaxmi, Sewree and Trombay, along with a 765 kV link to Dolvi. The proposed network is expected to significantly enhance Mumbai's ability to import power from the national grid and integrate large-scale renewable energy sources
