A major diplomatic development has emerged from the BRICS Summit in New Delhi, with the BRICS New Delhi Declaration condemning the April 2025 Pahalgam terror attack and calling for action against cross-border terrorism, terror financing and safe havens. Pakistan has been rocked by another deadly terror attack after a suicide bomber struck a peace rally near Kabal Police Station in the country's northwestern Swat Valley, turning a demonstration against militancy into a scene of devastation. According to officials, 19 people, including six police officers, were killed, while at least 55 others sustained injuries in one of the deadliest attacks to hit the region in recent months. The rally had been organised to promote peace and condemn militant violence when the explosion ripped through the gathering. Authorities say the suicide bomber allegedly attempted to breach Kabal Police Station before being intercepted by security personnel, detonating explosives near the rally.
