Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde warns Bishnoi Gang over Salman Khan's house firing

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on April 16 gave a stern warning to the Bishnoi gang and the accused over the firing incident at Salman Khan’s house and said that he will uproot all gangs and goons from Mahrashtra. On the firing incident outside actor Salman Khan's residence on April 14, CM Eknath Shinde said, "I met with Salman Khan and assured him the government is with him. I also directed the police team to take immediate action on this and in that path two of the accused have been arrested... This is Maharashtra, no gang is left here... We will uproot all the gangs and goons...Here hooliganism will not be allowed to continue... The accused arrested are being interrogated... Strict actions will be taken. I have also directed the Police Commissioner to provide security for Salman Khan and his family... It is our duty to take care of our people... I don't want to comment on what happened in the past government, but we will uproot all the gangs and goons who will try to harm any person of the state..."

Vladimir Putin warns of World War 3 in election victory speech

Vladimir Putin won the Russian Presidential Elections with nearly 88 per cent votes. While addressing Russian citizens, the newly elected President Putin warned of World War III. Direct conflict between Russia, NATO would mean the world would be “one step away” from World War III. The Ukraine conflict has triggered deepest crisis in Moscow's relations with West since 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis. Putin has often warned of the risks of nuclear war but says he has never felt the need to use nuclear weapons in Ukraine. Elections in Russia came just over two years since the full-scale conflict broke out between Ukraine, Russia. It has been considered as one of the Europe’s deadliest conflict since the World War II. The chair of the central election commission in Moscow said Putin won a record 88 pc of the vote. He received more votes in comparison to the 2018 Elections where he bagged 76.69 per cent of the total votes counted. Vladimir Putin was first elected as the President in 2000 and re-elected in 2004, 2012, 2018 and 2024 respectively.

Global News claims that India and China have been named as “top threats” to Canada in CSIS’ report. The report named ‘Foreign Interference and Elections: A National Security Assesment” was released in October 2022.

The Ministry of Home Affairs on Jan 29 extended the ban on the Students Islamic Movement of India. The Central Government banned SIMI for another five years as an 'unlawful association' under the UAPA. Ministry of Home Affairs took action by exercising the powers conferred by the provisions of UAPA. MHA had declared SIMI as unlawful association on Sept 27, 2001, and it later kept on extending the ban. SIMI “continuing to be involved in fomenting terrorism, disturbing peace, communal harmony in India”. Many criminal cases have been registered against SIMI and its members under various sections of IPC. Home Minister Amit Shah said that SIMI ban is part of PM Modi Government's 'zero tolerance' policy.

Designated Khalistani terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun has threatened to attack Air India flights from November 19. Pannun claimed that Air India flights won’t be allowed to operate on November 19. A video of Gurpatwant Pannun making these claims has been doing rounds on social Gurpatwant Singh Pannun is the chief of the banned outfit Sikhs For Justice. The Khalistan separation sentiment was fueled after Canadian PM Justin Trudeau voiced up for Hardeep Singh Nijjar. In June 2023, Nijjar, who was a Canadian citizen, was killed in Canada’s Surrey outside a Gurdwara. However, Canadian PM alleged that some Indian agents were involved in Nijjar’s killing.
