A devastating flash flood in Nepal's Rasuwa district has triggered a massive search-and-rescue operation after the Bhote Koshi River suddenly surged through the region. A preliminary list prepared by the Nepal Tourism Board says 384 travellers are reported missing, including 105 Indian nationals. The list includes 291 foreign nationals and 93 Nepali nationals whose whereabouts are being verified. The disaster has reportedly killed at least seven people, while 25 people have been rescued so far. Nepal Army, Armed Police Force and Nepal Police personnel have been deployed, with 14 helicopters involved in search-and-rescue efforts.

A major signal from Washington on Jammu and Kashmir. US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor says the US could reassess its travel advisory for the region, citing improved security. During his first visit to Jammu and Kashmir, Gor met Chief Minister Omar Abdullah in Srinagar. The two discussed India-US relations, economic cooperation and what Washington can do for Jammu and Kashmir. Gor also called J&K an “important part of India” and said many Americans could enjoy visiting the region.
