Para-athlete Suvarna Raj, who has represented the country in global events, on February 3 accused the IndiGo airline crew of 'mistreatment', saying she requested the carrier to provide her a personal wheelchair at the aircraft door but the staff did not respond. On the IndiGo’s mistreatment, Suvarna alleged that she was mistreated by IndiGo crew members while taking a flight from New Delhi to Chennai. Suvarna had booked seat number 39D(Aisle) on the Chennai-bound flight on Friday. Hollywood star, Angelina Jolie, who is also a refugee advocate, has lambasted Pakistan as deep concern is rising about the survival of Afghan refugees leaving Pakistan. Former Kerala CM, senior Congress leader Oommen Chandy passed away on July 18. Oommen Chandy, aged 79, had been undergoing treatment for cancer in Bengaluru. Former Kerala CM represented Puthupally constituency in Kottayam for more than 50 years. He first represented Puthupally in 1970 and later became a minister in former CM K Karunakaran ministry in 1977. Oommen Chandy became Kerala Chief Minister for two terms and handled finance portfolio of the state. He used to address the grievances of the needy through his mass contact programme ‘Janasamparka Paripadi’.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal visited the Wazirabad Water Treatment Plant on July 13. The Plant has currently been shut down owing to the rise in the water level of Yamuna river. "We are at the Wazirabad Water Treatment Plant. For the first time in Delhi, Yamuna has touched this level. Three Water Treatment Plants have been shut down due to this as the water has entered pumps and machines. 25 per cent of the water supply in Delhi will go down due to this. The tubewells are closed too. There can be water scarcity for a day or two. I hope that the supply resumes by tomorrow evening," said Arvind Kejriwal while speaking to ANI. Several areas of Delhi are now under water as the water level of river Yamuna continues to rise. Heavy rainfall and the release of water from Hathnikund Barrage in neighbouring Haryana have swelled Yamuna.

Star India batter Rishabh Pant was airlifted to Mumbai from a Dehradun hospital on Wednesday evening for the treatment of ligament injuries in the knee and ankle he has suffered in a car crash. Pant (25), who was injured in a car crash on December 30, was taken to the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in suburban Andheri upon arrival here, sources said. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) decided to shift Pant to Mumbai by air ambulance as he was not in a position to fly by a commercial airline. The cricketer will be treated by noted sports orthopaedic surgeon Dinshaw Pardiwala here. Pant survived a horrific car accident when he was driving from Delhi to his hometown Rourkee but lost control on the NH-58 highway before hitting the divider.
