I think right after they made this decision (to expel me from the party)...Congress party is a completely scattered party and the leaders of the party have also said that its ideology is directionless."Further, he said, "Earlier there used to be one power centre in the Congress party... but now there are five power centres in the Congress party and all five have their own lobbies which keep clashing with each other...In these five centres, first is Sonia Gandhi, second is Rahul Gandhi, third is Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, fourth is Mallikarjun Kharge and last is Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal ji... all of them are doing politics in their own way..."

In reaction to Maharashtra Assembly Speaker Rahul Narwekar giving the verdict that the Eknath Shinde faction was the real Shiv Sena following the June 2022 split in the party, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said on January 10 that the decision given on the Shiv Sena vs Shiv Sena issue is the victory of democracy. He also said that the result is given on merit. While speaking to the reporters, Eknath Shinde said, "It is 'Satyamev Jayate'. The truth has won... This result has been given on merit. Majority is very important in democracy and hence the decision given by the Speaker today is the victory of democracy."

Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut on Wednesday said Eknath Shinde "himself is Hamas", as he countered the Maharashtra chief minister's comment about Uddhav Thackeray's Shiv Sena faction being capable of joining hands with "Hamas and Lashkar-e-Taiba for their own selfishness". Taking a dig at Shinde and his aide Bharatiya Janata Party, Raut said, "He (Eknath Shinde) is himself Hamas... This shows how many dirty worms the BJP has planted in your mind." CM Shinde at the Dussehra rallt in Mumbai's Azad Maidan said, "You back-stabbed Bal Thackeray by committing dishonesty with his ideological legacy. I won't be surprised if they ally with terrorist groups like Hamas and Lashkar-e-Taiba for their own selfish motives." Thackeray and Shinde, leaders of the split factions of the Shiv Sena, organized separate Dussehra rallies this year in Mumbai for the first time in the history of the party.

In yet another jolt to Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray, one of his most combative MLCs, Manisha Kayande, on Sunday quit the party to join Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s faction. She joined the Sena faction in the presence of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. Kayande was dismissed from the post of Shiv Sena (UBT) spokesperson earlier, which might have led her to make this move.
