A projectile strike on a Kuwait-flagged oil tanker near Oman’s Bukha coast has triggered fresh concerns over maritime security in the Strait of Hormuz, with a fire breaking out aboard the vessel amid escalating Middle East tensions. The tanker, M/T Al Dasma, was struck on October 21, raising fresh alarms over the safety of commercial shipping across the Gulf. Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal confirmed that all 21 Indian seafarers aboard the tanker are safe. The vessel remains stationary following the incident as authorities monitor the situation and assess the damage.

The Israel Defense Forces says it has eliminated Hamas Nukhba operative Musa Abd Muhammad Hamouda in Gaza City over his alleged involvement in a September 2025 explosive attack on an Israeli tank that killed four IDF soldiers. The attack reportedly targeted a tank crew from the 401st Armored Brigade, with Hamouda accused of playing a role in the deadly ambush. According to the IDF, the Hamas operative was also involved in advancing attacks against Israeli civilians and efforts to restore the group's military capabilities amid the ongoing ceasefire. WATCH
