Punjab Police launched a massive crackdown against pro-khalistani sympathiser Amritpal Singh and his aids. Total of 112 arrests have been made in the case so far, as 34 were arrested on March 19. In a major development, Amritpal Singh's uncle, close aide surrendered before Punjab Police. Govt launched operations against ‘Waris Punjab De’ and suspended mobile internet services in Punjab. Several others including Amritpal Singh are on the run, a massive manhunt has been launched to nab them. Central intelligence agencies are also keeping a close watch on Punjab Police’s operations. Punjab govt had sought several companies of Paramilitary forces to maintain law and order in the state. Actor Tunisha Sharma died by suicide and Mumbai police on Sunday said that the post-mortem report clearly specifies ‘hanging’ as her cause of death. Her co-star and accused Sheezan Khan has been sent to 4-day police custody on Dec 25. Her uncle Pawan Sharma said, “She was continuously saying that she was wronged and cheated. We gauged something was wrong between here and Sheezan. Her mother asked her, what was the need to get close if the relationship was not to be kept? We want the culprit, whoever it is, to be punished.”

A two-year-old girl who was allegedly raped by her uncle on Friday died at a Vododara hospital yesterday. The little girl was allegedly raped and then thrown into a thorny bush on Friday night by her maternal uncle at Halol town near Vadodara. Some youth in the area located and rescued the child upon hearing her cries from the bush. They are said to have then apprehended the accused on the road and handed him over to the police.
