Reacting to the Congress Party’s press conference on account freezing Ravi Shankar Prasad had called it an utter desperation of defeat. "If we summarise the press conference of Mallikarjun Kharge, Sonia Gandhi, and Rahul Gandhi, we can say that in the utter desperation of defeat, the Congress party has created an alibi today… There is gentle advice to the Congress Party, we wish you well but realize now the more you allow Rahul Gandhi to speak the more you are losing ground in the country," said Ravi Shankar Prasad. Foreign students attacked offering Namaz at Gujarat University, 5 injured

A group of people allegedly attacked foreign students in one of the hostels of Gujarat University Ahmedabad on March 16. Police informed that the scuffle broke out as the foreign students were offering Namaz in the hostel premises. Ahmedabad Police Commissioner Gyanendra Singh Malik informed that stones were pelted and some hostel rooms were damaged. “Around 300 foreign students study here in Gujarat University. Some of them are from African nations, some are from Sri Lanka, some from Afghanistan. In the A block of the hostel, around 75 students live. Some were offering Namaz around 10:30 pm yesterday. Some 20-25 men came and asked them why are they offering Namaz here and it should be done in Masjid. On this, a heated argument and scuffle broke out. Stones were pelted, rooms were damaged. Police immediately responded and FIR was lodged. Strict action will be taken against persons involved. One person is identified. Rest will also be identified soon. The law and order situation here is under control,” he informed.

Attending a Ram Katha at Cambridge University on Indian Independence Day, Rishi Sunak proclaimed that he was there "not as a Prime Minister but as a Hindu". Mr. Sunak said, "It is truly an honour and pleasure to be here today at Morari Bapu's Ram Kahtha at the University of Cambridge on Indian Independence Day. Bapu, I am here today not as a Prime Minister but as a Hindu." Mr Sunak was born and raised in Southampton. His appointment as UK's first prime minister of colour has been cheered by Indians who still consider him a son of the soil. Sunak said that his Hindu faith guides him in every aspect of his life and gives him the courage to do the best as the Prime Minister of Britain. Mr Sunak reflected upon his childhood years in Southampton where he often visited his neighbourhood temple with family. He concluded his address with the words 'Jai Siya Ram' and went on to participate in an aarti on stage, with Morari Bapu invoking the blessings of Lord Hanuman.

IIT Bombay ranks first in the country, among top 150 universities globally

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) in Mumbai has achieved a great milestone by coming into the world's top 150 universities in the latest edition of the QS World University Ranking released on Wednesday. QS Founder and CEO, Nunzio Quacquarelli also congratulated IIT Bombay for securing its highest rank ever and said that they've ranked 2900 institutions for this year's ranking system and there are 45 Indian universities that are appearing in the rankings.The QS World University Rankings is an annual publication of university rankings that comprises the global overall and subject rankings. Earlier, the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore achieved its highest rank in 2016 with a ranking of 147. According to the official statement, IIT Bombay has been ranked 1st in India and has moved significantly up from 177th rank last year to 149th rank this year in the QS World University Rankings, with an overall score of 51.7 out of 100. Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar aslo expressed happiness over India's achievement.

Amid all the controversy over the film’s story, a screening of the contentious movie ‘The Kerala Story’ was held at Jawaharlal Nehru University on May 02. The controversy-ridden film received remarkable support from University students in the form of heavy cheers and slogans. Filmmakers Sudipto Sen, Vipul Amrutlal along with actor Adah Sharma also held an interactive session with the audience. While in conversation with the students, Film Director Sen also advocated his intentions. Opening up about the possible troubles, Adah Sharma and Sen openly expressed their expectations of the film’s reactions.  The response the team received was positive amid the troubles that it’s facing in Kerala by some political parties. ‘The Kerala Story’ is due to release on May 5, for which many are eagerly waiting to finally watch it. The Kerala Story is garnering a lot of backlash from Indian National Congress and the Communist Party of India (Marxist) party over its context. The movie is padded around the 2016 Kerala case where several girls went reportedly missing and were reportedly converted to join ISIS.
