On 26th of February, PM Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone and dedicated to the nation over 2000 railway infrastructure projects worth around Rs 41,000 crores. On this occasion, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the projects. He also vowed to transform the railway industry. Aswini Vaishnaw informed that soon the railway will be exporting India’s Vande Bharat Express for which the process has been started. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off the newly made Amrit Bharat train at Ayodhya Dham Junction on December 30. Amrit Bharat train has better acceleration due to push-pull technology. The vehicle accelerates quickly and also stops quickly which helps in saving time wherever there are curves and bridges on the way. It is equipped with semi-permanent couplers which eliminate the scope of shocks in the train. Charging points are provided near every seat. With target of 4,500 Vande Bharat trains by 2047 underway, PM Modi is all set to flag-off Amrit Bharat Train. Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on December 25 visited New Delhi Railway station to inspect the newly built train. The Amrit Bharat Express train looks magnificent in the colour of orange and grey. Vaishnaw boarded the train and took stock of the advance technologies in the passenger vehicle. This comes when the government is already on a mission to run 4,500 Vande Bharat trains by 2047. Notably, both, Vande Bharat and Amrit Bharat trains are part of PM Modi’s 'Make in India' Initiative.

In a shocking incident, the Udaipur-Jaipur Vande Bharat train was stopped at Rajasthan’s Gangarar in Chittaurgarh district. The emergency stoppage was made after iron rods and ballasts were found placed on the railway tracks. On September 16, General Manager of Integral Coach Factory, B G Mallya, addressed mediapersons and spoke about major projects, including Vande Bharat Express and Vande Metro. BG Mallya also informed that both projects are scheduled to be completed in this financial year. While addressing the media, B G Mallya, General Manager of Integral Coach Factory, said, "We'll be launching the sleeper version of the Vande within this financial year. We'll also be launching the Vande Metro this financial year. We'll be launching this train for non-air conditioned passengers, which is called a non-AC push-pull train and will have 22 coaches and a locomotive. And that launch is going to happen before October 31st."

India’s new Orange Vande Bharat train, which was stationed at the ICF Chennai, hit the tracks on August 19. The Saffron-grey-themed semi-high-speed train is India’s thirty-first Vande Bharat train got ready at Integral Coach Factory. The first Vande Bharat Express was flagged off on February 15, 2019, by the Prime Minister, running between New Delhi and Varanasi. The project to manufacture indigenous semi-high-speed train sets began in mid-2017.
