After two years of lull, Mumbaikars are all set for a grand Holi celebrations amid declining covid-19 cases and relaxed Covid norms. This is the first time since March 2020 that the outbreak is under control during this time of the year and everyone missed celebrating the festival of colours. However, vendors selling Holi colours, water guns and other products have shown disappointment over low customer turnout in comparison to pre-pandemic levels.

Rupani said that dragon fruit “does not sound appropriate” for the fruit. On the contrary, the word ‘Kamalam’ which is a Sanskrit word is apt because the characteristic fuchsia ‘petals’ of the fruit look like a lotus in bloom.
