In response to the ongoing clashes in Gurugram and surrounding areas, the United States Department of State said that the US calls for calm and urges parties to refrain from violence. Addressing the State Department briefing on Wednesday (local time), the official spokesperson Matthew Miller said, “I would say of – with respect to the clashes that obviously we would, as always, urge calm and urge parties to refrain from violent actions.” “With respect to whether we’ve heard from any Americans, I’m not aware of that. I’m happy to follow up with the – with the embassy,” he said when asked about any American citizen impacted by the clashes in Gurugram. Clashes between two groups broke out in Nuh on Monday afternoon after a religious procession passing through the district came under attack, leaving two home guards dead and dozens of people — including around 20 policemen — injured in the frenzy of violence that followed.

26 people have been detained in regard to the violent clash that occurred in Maharashtra’s Akola. Allegedly, the violent clash erupted after two groups clashed over an offensive Instagram post about a religious leader. 8 including 2 policemen were injured in the clash. Section 144 has been imposed in the city following the violence.

A clash broke out between groups in the Kiradpura area of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar (earlier known as Aurangabad) on Wednesday night. Several police vehicles were set on fire and pelted with stones amid the violence. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said the situation is under control. While Shivsena (UBT) Leader Sanjay Raut said the riots were sponsored by the Maharashtra Government.

Rakht Charitra is a two-part Indian biographical film based on the life of Paritala Ravindra, directed by Ram Gopal Varma. The film features Vivek Oberoi as Ravindra, and Surya as Suri, appearing predominantly in the second part. Shatrughan Sinha, Abhimanyu Singh, Kota Srinivasa Rao, Sushant Singh, Priyamani and Radhika Apte play other supporting roles. Maverick film maker Ram Gopal Verma's much-hyped movie Rakta Charitra, which is loosely based on the unmitigated violence and factional killings in Rayalaseema region in Andhra Pradesh, is said to be the most violent film ever released in Bollywood. And just some time back the movie got into trouble, barely a month before its planned release. The Andhra Pradesh State Human Rights Commission(APSHRC) called for a report from the regional film censor board following complaints from several organizations including Stree Shakti Sanghathana that the movie sought to promote violence and factionalism.

Brahmeshwar Mukhiya, who headed the banned, upper caste militia Ranvir Sena in Bihar, was shot dead on Friday morning by unidentified people in Arrah in the state's Bhojpur district. A violent backlash that began in this part of north-western Bihar has now spread to other parts of the state. Mr Mukhiya's angry supporters have vandalized public property, burnt buses and set offices on fire, smashed windows of the Patna Rajdhani Express and they even heckled and pushed Bihar's police chief DGP Abhay Anand, when he visited Arrah, which is now under curfew.
