The arrests followed a series of raids and searches conducted in and around Panvel after police initially detained two local residents and recovered cannabis from their possession

According to police, the accused had been evading arrest since around 2000. Investigators had limited information about his whereabouts as he allegedly changed his name and addresses repeatedly to avoid being traced
