The shocking Greater Noida dowry death case has taken a darker turn. 26-year-old Nikki Bhati was beaten, set on fire, and killed allegedly by her husband Vipin Bhati and his family over dowry demands in India’s Noida. But Nikki’s husband was no stranger to violence. In October 2024, another woman had filed an FIR against Vipin for assault and exploitation. He was in a relationship with her, despite being married to Nikki.

Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) Chairperson Swati Maliwal alleged that she was ‘molested’ and ‘dragged by a car’ for several meters opposite AIIMS in the National Capital on January 19. Speaking about the incident, Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) Chairperson Swati Maliwal also added that something similar to Anjali’s case would have happened to her if she wasn’t rescued in time.
