On World Environment Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi planted a Sindoor sapling at his official residence, 7 Lok Kalyan Marg. The sapling was gifted to him by a group of women from Kutch, known for their bravery during the 1971 war. Marking the occasion, PM Modi also flagged off 200 electric buses, aiming to boost sustainable urban transport. Additionally, he launched the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign—a nationwide tree plantation initiative encouraging citizens to plant a tree in honour of their mothers.

The Bhamla Foundation has kicked off its World Environment Day 2025 campaign, Tik Tik Plastic 3.0, enlisting Bollywood stars Ajay Devgn and Sharvari as the new faces of the initiative. Led by Asif Bhamla, Chairman of the Foundation, and curated by renowned filmmaker Imtiaz Ali, the campaign was officially launched today.
