A source indicated that the meeting would be called within a week if Jagdale and Shirke remain adamant on their decision to quit. Anurag Thakur, currently the Joint secretary of the BCCI, seems to be the front-runner for the secretary&rsquo;s post. &ldquo;Thakur is a close confidant of Srinivasan. He is the automatic choice to replace Jagdale. Thakur would also be rewarded for his support to Srinivasan in this crisis,&rdquo; said a source. Thakur, a BJP leader and head of the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association, did not attend yesterday&rsquo;s all-important emergency working committee meeting in Chennai, but he was present via video-conference. Yesterday&rsquo;s meeting also gave a clear indication that Srinivasan still enjoys the majority. &ldquo;Srinivasan has the support of all BJP leaders. So, there is no question of him losing ground. He has shown that he&rsquo;s still very powerful in the Board,&rdquo; another source said. All nonsense: Lele Meanwhile, former secretary of the BCCI, Jaywant Lele said the decision to appoint Jagmohan Dalmiya to look after the day-to-day affairs of the Board following Srinivasan&rsquo;s decision to step aside pending inquiry due to his son-in-law Gurunath Meiyappan&rsquo;s alleged involvement in the IPL betting scandal, can be challenged. &ldquo;It is all an eye-wash and absolute nonsense. The Working Committee has no powers to appoint anybody. Only the General Body can make appointments. So, anybody can challenge this decision,&rdquo; Lele told MiD DAY from Baroda. &ldquo;But our Board is very dynamic. They will call a general body meeting and ratify this (decision).
