Goa Ranji captain Sagun Kamat fired, gets 2-match ban for assaulting player

The Goa Cricket Association has stripped Sagun Kamat of the state Ranji Trophy squad's captaincy and banned him from two first-class matches after he was found guilty of assaulting a player.

Sagun allegedly assaulted Kashinath Chari, a rival player, during a Premier League tie on April 21.

A composite fine of Rs 2,500 was levied on Chari. Being an employee of Goa Cricket Association (GCA), Chari faced another action for misconduct for going on leave uninformed, for which his pay for two days was deducted.
