Team India's tour to Bangladesh, which was scheduled to start in August, is likely to be cancelled, considering the situation in the country for the last few months, according to sources in the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

"India tour of Bangladesh is likely to be called off as the government has advised the BCCI not to go there as the situation is not ok there. The official announcement regarding this will be made soon," a source close to BCCI told ANI.

The 'Men in Blue' were supposed to lock horns with Bangladesh for a three-match ODI series, starting from August 17. After the conclusion of the ODI series, India will clash against the 'Bengal Tigers' for a three-match T20I series, scheduled to start from August 26.

Team India's last visit to Bangladesh was in 2024, where both teams played three T20Is and two Test matches. The visitors did not lose a single game against the Tigers.

Currently, Team India is busy featuring in the Test series against England. So far, they are trailing by 0-1 against the 'Three Lions', but are dominating the ongoing second Test match.

In the first innings of the second Test match, skipper Shubman Gill played a glorious knock of 269 runs off 387 deliveries, including 30 boundaries and three maximums. Along with him, opening batsman Yashasvi Jaiswal, Ravindra Jadeja, and Washington Sundar, too, played crucial knocks in the first essay.

Facing 107 balls, Jaiswal accumulated 87 runs, which was laced with 13 boundaries. Jadeja smashed 89 runs in 137 balls, with the help of 10 boundaries and a maximum. Sundar played a late heroic knock, in which he scored 42 runs off 103 balls, including three boundaries and a maximum. Riding on these knocks, India posted a total of 587 runs in 151 overs.

England ended day two with a score of 77 runs for the loss of three wickets. Pacer Akash Deep was the man who helped India get early breakthroughs. In seven overs, he conceded 36 runs and claimed two wickets. On the other hand, Mohammed Siraj registered one wicket to his name.
