Opening flourish
After being inserted into bat, India got off to a brisk start with openers Dhawan and Rahane. Dhawan especially took a liking to both Jason Holder and Jerome Taylor scoring boundaries at well. After adding 70 for the first wicket, Dhawan fell against the run of play for 35. Rahane though went on to score another ODI fifty, before being dubiously adjudged leg before for 68.
Virat peaks in Dharamsala
After a harrowing run in England, Virat Kohli finally found some runs in the second ODI in Delhi. Before the match began, he quipped that he was also human and not a machine. The run machine within him though came to the fore in Dharamshala as he looked confident at the crease, but also went on to score his 20th ODI century. He was finally dismissed of the last ball of the innings for 127 off 114 balls. His innings included 13 fours and three sixes.
