In the ODI Women's World Cup 2025 match against Pakistan, Bangladesh emerged victorious by seven wickets at the R Premadasa International Cricket Stadium in Colombo.
Having put to chase a target of 130 runs, the Bangladesh team scored 131 runs by losing just three wickets in 31.1 overs. Opening the innings for the side, Fargana Hoque scored just two runs in 17 balls.
Fellow opening batswoman, Rubya Haider, played an unbeaten knock of 54 runs off 77 deliveries, including eight boundaries.
Sharmin Akhter departed after scoring 10 runs in 30 balls, including a boundary. Skipper Nigar Sultana came to bat and garnered 23 runs off 44 balls, with the help of five boundaries.
Later, along with Haider, Shobhana Mostary stayed unbeaten and accumulated 24 runs in 19 balls, including six boundaries.
Pakistan skipper Fatima Sana, Diana Baig, and Rameen Shamim bagged one wicket each to their names. Bowling eight overs, Sana conceded 30 runs, and Baig was smashed for 14 runs in eight overs.
Shamim gave away 25 runs in her spell of five overs. Sadia Iqbal, Nashra Sandhu, and Omaima Sohail went wicketless in the ODI Women's World Cup 2025 match against Bangladesh.
Bowling six overs, Iqbal was smashed for 21 runs, followed by Sohail's nine runs in one over. Sandhu, on the other hand, leaked 27 runs in 3.1 overs.
Earlier, Pakistan were bowled out for 129 runs in 38.3 overs.
Opening the innings, Muneeba Ali scored 17 runs in 35 balls, including two boundaries.
Fellow opening batswomen, Omaima Sohail and Sidra Ameen, returned to the pavilion on one-ball ducks each.
Rameen Shamim was the highest run-scorer for the side. Facing 39 balls, she scored 23 runs, including two boundaries. Aliya Riaz faced 43 balls and scored 13 runs, including two boundaries.
Shorna Akter was the most successful bowler for Bangladesh. In her spell of 3.3 overs, she bagged three wickets for five runs. Marufa Akter and Nahida Akter claimed two wickets each. Marufa bowled seven overs and leaked 31 runs, and Nahida conceded 19 runs in eight overs.
Rabeya Khatun, Fahima Kahtun, and Nishita Akter Nishi registered one wicket each to their names.
