Shetty, who is the Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) general manager Game Development, dragged the MCA to court to overturn his five-year ban imposed recently. Shetty is aiming for a stay order on the ban so that he could be eligible for the forthcoming elections.

An MCA source said: “Since the judge was not present yesterday, the court has scheduled next hearing on August 1.” u00a0The MCA also filed an affidavit in the court in response to Shetty’s legal notice.

Shetty, who has served MCA in various capacities, had alleged that an association office-bearer was involved in the black marketing of 150 tickets of India vs Pakistan T20 clash in Ahmedabad last December.

Shetty was issued a showcause notice for his remarks. He later denied making any such allegations. MCA slapped a five-year ban on him. Shetty in turn filed a Rs 50 lakh defamation case on the association.u00a0
