Chief selector MSK Prasad struggles to justify skipper Kohli's availability for full SL series and Nehra's selection only for Delhi T20I

Whether skipper Virat Kohli will get some rest before next year's South Africa tour or will he continue with the grind remains to be seen as ambiguity prevails over his availability for the forthcoming three-Test series against Sri Lanka. The MSK Prasad-led selection panel yesterday selected the Indian team for the three-match T20 series against New Zealand, two warm-up matches and the first two Tests against Sri Lanka. There was speculation that Kohli would be rested after newspaper reports said that the Indian skipper had requested the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) not to consider him for selection in December due to personal reasons. The first Test against Sri Lanka will begin on November 16 while Sri Lanka will stay on for three ODIs and T20Is.
