Earlier in the 'Super Four' stage of Asia Cup 2025, Team India secured a dominating victory over Pakistan by six wickets at the Dubai International Stadium
After the victory, during the post-match press conference, Team India skipper Suryakumar Yadav was asked about the rivalry against Pakistan. Speaking about it, the 35-year-old said, "Now, what is a rivalry? If two teams have played 15 matches and it's 8-7, that's a rivalry. Here it's 13-1 (12-3) or something. There is no contest"
This was the second time in the ongoing tournament that the "Men in Blue" had defeated the "Green Shirts". In the previous meeting, the Indians emerged victorious by seven wickets
Later, responding to Yadav's comment, Pakistan's lead pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi said, "That's his view, let him say. When we meet (in the likely Asia Cup final on Sunday), we will see kya hai, kya nahi. Tab dekh lenge. We are here to win the Asia Cup, and we will give our best effort for that"
A third faceoff between arch-rivals India and Pakistan is likely on September 28, which will be the final of the continental tournament
If both teams make it to the final, will Shaheen be able to deliver on his words: ‘Kya hai, kya nahi. Tab dekh lenge’?
