Making his Test debut for India in 2020, Shubman Gill has featured in 32 longest format matches. So far, he has scored 1,893 runs, including five centuries and seven half-centuries, with a top score of 128 runs

Since his debut, the right-hander has played 10 Test matches against England. Since 2021, he has scored 592 runs, which is his highest tally against any team in Test cricket

In English conditions, Gill has played just three matches and has managed to score 88 runs. To date, his highest score on English soil is 28 runs. The 25-year-old is yet to register a century or a half against the Englishmen in their backyard

Team India will clash against England for a five-match Test series, starting from June 20. The side will also miss the services of their stalwart Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Ravichandran Ashwin

The England series will be the first bilateral series since Gill's appointment as captain
